Glendon Capital Management in Los Angeles was working with Warner Constructors, a construction company that we have worked with for many years. New construction and renovations require new signage, usually ADA compliant signs. But Glendon Capital was also interested in getting a custom made logo sign for their lobby. Their logo is pretty minimal, just letters with no graphics so the sign has a very minimal look. The logo says a lot about a company, so your logo design is very important. Your logo is repeated on your website, signage, and all of your marketing material so you want to make sure that it represents your business properly. In Glendon Capital Management’s case, the logo is perfect for a financial management company and looks great as a lobby sign.
In the original proposal, we were looking into an aluminum dimensional letter sign that would be painted black. During proofing when we provide a rendering of what the sign is going to look like, they decided that they wanted something more high end and we switched from painted aluminum to dark oxidized bronze. Bronze is already a more upscale material compared to aluminum, and the oxidized finish brings it up another level. The bronze is chemically treated and hand-rubbed to produce an antique look on the face of the letters. We offer oxidized and dark oxidized, and the client chose the dark oxidized bronze option. This is a very popular finish for signage. You can see another example of oxidized bronze dimensional letter signs we made for The Kensington in Redondo Beach here.
The sign was installed onto a porcelain wall so we needed to use specialty drill bits. As you can see from the photos from the side, the letters were mounted with spacers. The spacers are 1/2″ long and the bronze letters themselves are 1/4″ thick, so the sign comes off of the wall a total of 3/4″.
