Falcon Ridge Town Center is a large shopping center in Fontana, California that serves the Fontana and Rancho Cucamonga communities. The center has many tenants, one of which is a Supercuts hair salon. If you’ve been keeping up with our blogs, you know that we do many different signs for many different Supercuts stores. We manufacture channel letter signs in-house, but this Supercuts location already had an existing sign so a new sign was not necessary. Instead, they were interested in replacing the faces on their existing channel letter sign and converting the light source from neon to LEDs.
A channel letter is an internally illuminated sign letter that helps you advertise during the daytime and at nighttime. It is important to make sure that your sign is shining bright and the colors stay vibrant. In a shopping center like this, there are always people walking through the center or driving around so you want to make sure to advertise to the people who are passing by your business. Being in a mall or plaza is great because you get a lot of foot traffic from your neighbors. If someone is visiting GameStop or Yogurtland, they will easily see the Supercuts sign and may come back to the same center for a hair cut in the future.
Front-lit channel letters commonly have removable faces that are attached to the returns with trimcap. We replaced the existing faces with new red acrylic and trim cap and replaced the existing neon with red LEDs. As you can see from the photos, all of the neighboring tenants also have channel letters. It is common for shopping centers to require a channel letter sign to ensure uniformity.
