We worked with Jaz Entertainment in Agoura Hills, California, to create ADA signage for their client. XRM Media is a video production service in Burbank, California. Since they are a public building, they needed ADA signs to make sure that they were up to code and that they were able to open to the public. We made a total of 31 room numbers, and 4 room identification numbers. Per ADA requirements, the signs had both tactile copy and Braille. There are some specifications such as these that can’t be altered, but we do have control over material and colors.
To give their signs a modern look, we used non-glare clear acrylic and mounted the signs with silverĀ standoffs. Clear acrylic and silver is a great combination if you want a sign that will look great with most interiors, and provide a minimal look. As long as the color of the text or graphics you are using contrast well with the wall, clear acrylic works great for ADA signs as long as you use non-glare acrylic to make sure that the information on the sign can be read quickly and easily.
For some of the signs, we also added graphics of different logos, depending on which room the sign was for. This is another great reason to use a custom sign company for your ADA signs. You can purchase pre-made room numbers online, but only a custom company will be able to personalize your signage with your logo and logo colors. The copy color we used was chosen by the client, and it matches their logo color.
